Prince's --It's the OG of Hot Chicken

Swetts--best meat and 3 in town

Pancake Pantry- huge line, but they move you in quick

Sperry's--you can go in polo type shirt or a jacket and tie.
my favorite restaurant in town

make the drive and eat at Loveless Cafe, it's worth it

first place i went when moving to nashville in 1996. didn't care for it. hot just to be hot doesn't really do it for me. i much prefer popeyes over princes

hit the one in belle meade on a fri or sat night and have your food brought to the bar MILF central. Also - best salad bar in town BAR NONE

hell no. maybe once upon a time. take an extra 20 minutes and drive to bon aqua and hit the beacon light tea room..its what loveless was 20 years ago.

wellllll worth the drive

also highly recommend thompsons kitchen if you're on the west side of town (best side of town)

LINK

Mrs CAD also has a food truck in the area serving fresh sandwiches and salads for lunch so if you want to support a fellow TD connection, hit up Blooms.

I looked this Thompson Kitchen up, never heard of this place before, so it's in Fairview.

Breakfast / brunch easily

The Buttermilk Ranch

Everything is scratch made. It will get packed so plan accordingly. One of the best meals we had overall. The drinks were also good. Highly recommend the Benedict’s with homemade croissant cubes.

Prince's is unreasonably hot. It's not good flavor, just mouth numbingly hot to be hot.

Hattie B's is much better.

Go to five daughters bakery for doughnuts. I get a box every time I pass through. They're expensive and probably the most unhealthy thing a person can eat, and totally worth it

protip - bishops in cool springs is hattie b's without the long lines and bonus - its a meat+3 so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.

$5+ for a 'croisssant-donut' but good to try/split just to experience them. they got an airstream at 30a so if you're going to the beach you can get them there as well.

while you're at the factory getting a donut, hit mojo's. great tacos and margaritas

i'm not a fan at all. the lines never end and its freaking pancakes.

hit le peep in belle meade instead; you can get a bloody mary or mimosa, the food is delicious and never much of a line..and you're VERY likely to see a celebrity or 2 eating there.

Just had them both 5 days ago (not on same day). At Prince's I was forewarned by a local to get the medium heat level even though I like hot/spicy food. It was hot enough (though I probably could have gone up one more level), but not overwhelming.

We had Hattie B's the next day. Also medium. Also no problem on the heat level.

Both were good, but I preferred Hattie B's because the chicken was a little "wetter" with the hot sauce. Most others preferred Prince's. Take that for what it's worth.

You made some decent recs but Loveless was so meh for me. It was decent food, but definitely not worth going out of the way for with other places to go on a short visit.

Medium at Princes and Boltons is a dice roll. Some days they light you up, and others days it's the perfect heat level.

Hattie B's is much more consistent on heat level, and you can usually go one step higher than than Princes/Boltons. Pro-tip - always do carry out and avoid the lines. Hot chicken is not worth standing in a line.

To OP, we don't get out near as much as we used to, so I'm not sure what the best is or what the can't-misses are these days. I can only mention some good things I've had lately:

-Pre-dinner drinks at Le Loup followed by dinner at O-Ku was a great night.
-Vastly underrated beer and pizza can be found at Tennfold Brewery. It's off the typical tourist beaten path. Second choice for beer and pizza closer in to town is at Smith and Lentz.
-If you find yourself out by the zoo, hit up Edessa.
-If you plan well ahead on reservations, Bastion is worth it.
-We had a good meal and time at Henrietta Red not long ago.

THIS x1000!!!!!!!

outstanding

nolensville road is off the hook anyway. also HIGHLY recommend gauchos in plaza mariachi about 1/2 mile from edessa. that sirloin steak cooked over wood is absolutely delicious.

Plus you never know what you're going to walk in on when going to plaza mariachi

we go there at least twice a month.

bumping an old thread, same topic

we will be in nashville 02/23-25 for some shows, staying near the bridgestone and the ryman. no wheels so we will need to uber

anything new?
i saw mention of the iberian pig in another thread which looks right up our alley. we will be getting dinner early before the shows, then probably need to eat late night. i'd rather casual and good (nothing fancy, i'm not bringing anything nice to wear)
