Maybe I should elaborate. Mugshots will be closed in 18 months. Nothing different than Champps.

after we ate there for the 1st time sunday, we walked out saying that champps was probably a little bit better. the food was not very good IMO.

I didn't really notice the bar area. Mugshots might be a cool place to get liquored up.

I went to Mugshots a few weeks ago. I ordered the onion rings for an appetizer after being told they were fresh and good by the waitress. They were the terrible frozen onion rings a la burger king. $6 or $7 for that garbage.

The waitress then assured me they would cook my and my girlfriends burgers medium rare. Both came out extremely well done. There were two other tables of people in, so mass confusion shouldn't have been a problem.

The fans were out in the kitchen and the inside got so smokey that I thought the building was on fire.

I'm not in a huge rush to go back, and don't know why anyone would get a burger at Mugshots instead of Portabello's or Dempsey's, both within 1/2 mile instead.

They do have good beer specials. I hope they make it cause BR is in need of more sports bars and more rest./bars in that area of town. With that being said they do need to step up in food quality and marketing.

I went about a month ago and inquired as to if they would be doing insane drink specials like some of the other locations. The manager came back with a daily special sheet that was like 3.00 drafts, 4.00 crown singles, etc. Nothing too special about those specials at least at the BR location.

I went for the NC game and they had 3 levels of beer domestic and imported beer. If I remember correctly for reg. domestic it was 2.50 10oz, 3.50 16oz, and 4.50 22oz...I think the highest priced 22oz was 6.50.

If you look at it as a full service restaurant, you will probably be disappointed. If you look at it as a bangin burger joint that serves beer, it's great!
The apps I had there the first time were ok, but both times, the burgers were AWESOME. Had the macdonald the first time, the crunchy peanut butter one the second.
The five guys I had today was good, but I wished I had gone to mugshots instead. Bill at fg was $10 for one, mugshots was 18 plus tip for two.
Don't wanna sound like a fat kid, but I'm Kinda craving another one right now. Haha.

Did they cook them well done the times you went? They claim to cook them medium-well, which is too much for a good burger, but the times I've gone they were really well done to the point of being gray and dry.

This is really the business plan of their other restaurants. It's kind of a meeting place for college kids to socialize, hang around, grab a bite to eat, maybe a beer. And at night turns into a bar for the college students to come and party.

I sense BR is a little different because of the size of the town and location, so it may take time to evolve to how they want it to be. Or how BR dictates it to be.

Thats why I think they need to start mass advertising, esp focusing on restaurant and sports bar that stays open late night, not sure what they are waiting on

They had a *hint of pink, but were nowhere near dry!

I also feel they need a real sign soon, too! Didn't know they were there till a friend brought me, so I guess advertising would be good too.

Have you ever eaten there?
Have you ever eaten at Champps?

Their menus are not even remotely similar. Just because they didn't "redecorate" does not make them the same place.

As for the thread topic, Five Guys is fast food and cost us $22 for each a burger and SPLITTING fries.
We went to Mugshots the other night and it was $25 AFTER tip for individual burgers with fries and we were being served, considering we were in a restaurant.

we mistakingly didn't order a burger, so our bad. what we did order tasted like total crap.

mugshots food menu = burgers only. the rest of the menu may be crappy.

you can get a good burger at lots of places.
