One of the places I go to here in St Louis does a 4oz, 12oz, and 20oz.
They don't offer the really high ABV in the 20oz.
I like the 12oz probably better than the full pint because then I can have three beers in a setting instead of just two and get to try more of their taps. 55 taps that rotate often and some offerings made especially for them by local brewers.

Why? The places that do this (Avenue Pub) charge you for the price of pint when they give you an 8 oz pour. I want my money's worth
Doubtful. Its probably an expensive beer and would be double the price if they gave you a 16oz pour. It may not say it but they are charging you accordingly.

I'm all for it, though I prefer 175 mL pours.

I didn't know that 4/5oz pours weren't commonplace now.
May have to get a flight at some places, but that was pretty much the plan anyway.

Places I've seen may charge like 5 bucks for a pint and 3 bucks for a half-pint. More per ounce, for sure, but the trade off is worth it. Especially if you don't like the beer. If you love it, then follow up with a full pint.
Places that have those computerized draft systesm that track the percentage of beer left in the keg are able to adjust the price based on the size of the pour.
Speaking of big beers and small pours, my go to lunch spot had a Goose Island tap takeover a couple of nights ago and has a half dozen GI beers still on tap. I may have to go do a flight...

A flight at nola costs $10. 4- 5oz pours.
A pint at nola costs $4.

I thought a flight is $8 and the beer prices vary depending on the beer.

In Australia it's common to order a "schooner" which is a 10 oz. pour or a half pint.

You would know better than me, but ive ordered numerous flights and all have been $10 that i remember. I think i even commented about it to you last time we were there.

Yeah, but do they come with Mecha Shots?
Posted on 1/22/15 at 1:03 pm to rutiger
Irregardless the prices for 10 & 16 oz vary by beer.
Was at the snooty cooter the other day and if you order a flight of nothing but BCBS the price was cheaper than ordering a 10 oz pour.

In the brewery, no.
In the taproom, yes.
Not sure how that matters at all.
Is this where i call you a tinroof homer and you tell about their great trucker hats?

Places I go to will give you a 6 oz pour of anything and reduce the price accordingly. They do this even if the 6 oz pour isnt on the menu.
Certainly is a nice option if you want to try several beers.
