Will be staying in the back of the FQ near Esplanade for a couple of days.

Any hidden gems we should check out for food and libations?

In that part of town, Bywater American Bistro, N7, and St. Germian come to mind. Elizabeth’s for breakfast. Bachanal as a place to listen to music. Wouldn’t really call any of these “hidden” but these are what come to mind.

Alma Cafe, Sneaky Pickle, Arabella, St Germain and The Franklin are all places that don't get mentioned much on here, but are really good.

Haven't been to Habana Outpost so maybe someone can comment on that.

Bacchanal is a must imo.

Pizza Delicious

Elysian Bar

Paladar511

St Germain is the best restaurant right now in the entire city imo, but it is expensive and tasting menu only.

Yep outside at N7 this time of year when it’s cool out is fantastic.

I really recommend just walking up and down Frenchman and listening for a band that strikes a chord with you.

For food, several of my favorites have already been mentioned, but I always recommend a walk to Johnny's Po'boys for a surf n turf during lunch.

Just ate Habana over the weekend. I had the Cuban which was above average, but not spectacular. The atmosphere was better than the food.

Then again, I'm comparing their Cuban to the slice of heaven I had at the Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine (named "Best Sandwich in Florida" by Food & Wine Magazine)

For a late night meal, give Buffa's a try. Their cheese curds and chicken wings were delicious at 3 AM,
