Has anyone tried this?
I have read different recipes that call for Vodka or Everclear?
Question: I have a gallon of moonshine left over. Can I use that to make this drink? In place of Everclear?
Or what has turned out best for you?
TIA

Is that Orangchello's brother?

I am sure you can use moonshine, but after it steeps you may want to cut it with some water or not. I found everclear to be less than ideal
Peel the citrus, make sure to get all the white of the inside of the peel off. This is very time consuming but crucial. You probably want the peels of 20 or so pieces of citrus. Then steep in a dark place for 45 days or so.

Whatever you do, don't run your lemon rind liquor through a brita filter. Did that yesterday without thinking and it turned my beautiful yellow liquid into brown.

I think Giada DiLaurentiis (sp?) has a recipe for this. See if you can find it on foodnetwork.
