Something between Scott and Lake Charles. Any home cooking spot to stop at for some lunch?

Bail off I-10 in Jennings. Hop on Hwy 90 for 6 miles to Mermentau, then eat at Cest Bon.

The truck stop in Jennings is surprisingly good believe it or not but it's been several years since I've been. I like Boudin King too... good fried chicken, livers/gizzards.

Go get a burger from Green's and then get a shake from the Rocket.

My work travels have brought me to this area a lot the past couple years. I no longer buy sausage in the BR area anymore. So many great Mom & Pop Meat Shops in just about every village in SW La.

Lil Couchon in Lacassine does daily plate lunches. Thursdays they serve smothered Beef Tongue and don't pass on the fresh green onion sausage.

In laws in Iowa also does great daily plate lunches. Fried Ribs are killer good.

Suire's south of Crowley is off the beaten path a bit but is a local tradition in the Kaplan/Abbeville area. Very good plate lunches.

Happy Eatin......
