I'd have a corned beef sammitch at the horse track, but not sure if they are even offered outside of racing season. Maybe offered in the casino.

Delucas pizza. Its amazing. Also, Barefoots lakeside grill. I was up there two weeks ago and both were great. I could seriously eat that pizza every day.

Not sure about their food, but a lot of people rave about Maxine's as far as a place to have a drink and hangout.

Great tip on Deluca's Pizza. I saw this, then ended up here unexpectedly. Hit Deluca's for dinner, and it was fantastic.

I've had a lot of shitty food in this town, so my expectations are low, but this was truly wonderful.

We got the basic pie plus Arkie made Italian sausage. It was outstanding. They have a 800 degree electric oven that holds only 2 at a time, so it can take a while when busy. They make only so much dough per day, then no more customers unless you have a reservation (so that they saved you some dough). I watched them turn away a party of 10 and 2 couples about 8:30. The waiter said to always make a reservation; we just got lucky.

We also had a $7 arugula salad that was plenty for 2 people. The tomato vinaigrette was great, and the tiny tomatoes in it were the smallest I've ever seen. I'd like to try the lemon vinaigrette next time.

Waitstaff was friendly and hustling. Beer selection was decent. We had a Couple local brews. Hostess was cute as hell. Frazzled owner/chef came around to check on folks. You can pay at the table with square. What's not to like?

I think they are only open Thur thru Sunday, so check before going.

I'm glad you liked it. My wife and I stayed at a b&b outside of town and the owners pointed us that way and we couldn't have been happier. Easily the best pie I've had in the south.
