Does anyone have any info on when this will open? I have heard really good things about their Coursey location but have not tried it. Looks like they put some money into the place, adding a covered patio area.

I am optimistic it will be better considering the Coursey location has a fairly good rep

What is your review of the Coursey location?

It's mexican slop. Went recently and it's exactly like all the other Mexican places down to the lame decor. Its also not cheap at all.

Like another poster hinted, this is a rinse and repeat like the others

I could really give 2 shits about the decorations. Do they have good tacos/quesadillas and margaritas?

Not a fan of their margs.

The food is fine. Mexican slop isn’t an insult. It’s a style of food. It all looks sloppy Doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Fake Mexican. Etc.

We've been going to the Coursery Location frequently since it opened. It's close to our house. It's pretty good TexMex. Like others have said, their prices have definitely gone up. Just about every item is $18 to $20.

In my opinion, the ambiance is not worth the price. If I am going to have to pay that much for mexican food, I would rather go to Superior on government or highland where the ambiance is a little more lively and the drinks are better.

I used to complain about Superior being overpriced and that is one reason why we went to Los Reyes so much. Now there isn't much difference. Probably start going to Superior.

I've been to Coursey location a few times, same old, same old, it's like all the TexMex places are a chain. I have found two places that are heads above the rest, Blue Corn & Mestizo's.

Los Reyes is just LAs Palmas. Pisses me off they took the beans off of the fajita nachos like Las Palmas had.

Fake Mexican.
Mexican food in the US is mostly all Texas Mexican. the taquerias a a bit more true Mexican and the regular places are putting more true mexican dishes on the menu. But what everyone things of Mexican food, enchiladas, tamela, taco combo plate smothered in cheese and chili con carne is 100% a Tex Mex dish.

Yeah I mean it’s Baton Rouge, what does anyone expect? Houston quality Tex mex? 99% of people here are just looking for decent staples (tacos, dillas, enchiladas, tamales) and solid margaritas that don’t cost a fortune since it’s all pretty cheap food to begin with.
