Trim off as much of the big fat pieces as you can

Rub down with mustard and apply very general amount of rub (preferably one with some brown sugar)

Smoke around 250-270 until middle is about 203° degrees

Wrap and let sit for about 45-60 minutes and then pull

ETA: generally takes me around 8hrs with a couple hr stall at 160°

Here are the last few I've done. All 4 are boneless from Costco

I really don't think they need recipes. Just cook them slow seasoned how you like whether it be in a smoker, oven or slow cooker. We have been covering the bottom of a slow cooker with sliced onions, the coating the roast with rub. Cover that with slice sweet potatoes. Set it and forget it.

light the pit.

make sure your bb is stuffed and seasoned.

grill for about 30-45 minutes rolling the roast to sear on all sides. take off the pit and wrap in 4 layers of heavy duty foil. place back on pit. turn it over every 30 minutes for 2.5 hours.

Chris Lilly pork shoulder recipe is the tits and very easy to do. For the rub, I halve the salt. I find it a tad to salty.

I never smoke it that long, most of the time i'll smoke it till it hits 160 then stick it in the oven on 325 convection bake till the internal temp hits 195. Takes about 5 hours.

I've noticed a pretty big difference between 195 and 205. I've done both and it seems the extra 10° makes it a lot easier to pull.

Me neither. I just smoke any meat 3-4 then finish in oven. Waste of good hardwood to do otherwise, and I know exactly what the temp is in the oven even whilst I sleep.
