All the Hi-Nabors. They are worse that the others. In fact Matherne's has a "decent" breakfast. I've heard Ralph's is okay.

Again, it is a food dump and it makes since...but now I have to poo poo.

You really don't. The better cheddar (or however the spell is) isn't all that divine.

If you go to Dorignacs for breakfast you can be sure of one thing, you will be by far the youngest person there for breakfast

Make my own bacon and eggs...which is more expensive and takes much more time

Is it really more expensive?

Eggs are really cheap and bacon isnt pricey either. I would think its cheaper to make it

Much more time? No way, unless this place is on the way to work and youre eating in the car or office

He's saying it is cheaper to buy it already made there because they are using stuff that has expired, or is about to expire.

That's why it is cheaper.

How does that make it cheaper for the consumer that they do the cooking themselves?

A dozen eggs and a pack of bacon is not expensive.

How much are these meals he is getting?

my experience has been good. the grocery store near my neighborhood makes pretty darn good breakfast burritos. they are huge, loaded with lots of egg, bacon, potatoes, and cheese.

they make regular breakfast plates as well but i've never tried them.

they have a really good/cheap salad bar for lunch/supper. have only tried their lunch/supper plates once, and it was decent for faux BBQ.

A few bucks. I've only done it a few times. I've seen painters and tree crews buying the Matherne's breakfast alot.

I think it is mostly people who have to get up and leave their house with time only to put on their boots, grab their ciggs, and cough as they inhale fresh air once they're out the door.

Same crews that I see wiping out the taquitos and hot dogs at Circle K at 5:45am.

I recognize that the cooked food at most local groceries is a money making food dump. But it seems the eggs are runnier and the meat is a bit more "interesting" for lack of a better word. I don't want my bacon "interesting."

No question here. Just a rant I guess.

why is Baton Rouge in such a shortage of descent breakfast joints? Granted, I eat at home 5,6 days out of the week. Saturday and Sunday is tough if your not an early riser,IHOP,Dennys,Subway, McDonalds do not count.

I paid 1.69 for what was probably 3 eggs and damn near a pound of bacon. It took 75 seconds. It is cheaper.

There is a gas station near my house (Chevron in Walker by the interstate) that has alligator sausage biscuits and they are legit. Their eggs are just like the ones they put on the Mcmuffins as well. All in all not a bad place to grab some breakfast if you are in a hurry.

For that cheap I would be very very scared to eat that. Plus who needs a fricking pound of bacon? Good lord it's breakfast.

Part of my point. Give me more eggs...not rotten bacon.

I could stand to lose a few lbs also. My weakness is not food - it's beer.
