Moved to Dallas a few months ago and hoping to do a boil this weekend. Left all my gear back home and wouldn't mind purchasing an extra set here.

Any suggestions for a place to buy decently price live crawfish here in Dallas? Anyone know where to pick up a burner and a 120 qt pot, etc. Thanks!

When I lived in Plano, I always bought my live crawfish from Captain Dave's (located at Alma and Plano Pkwy)...also had a killer Cajun Crab dip...

a few options

bayou market in Lewisville is pretty good and they make their own boudin BTW

also restaurants like Nates and Razzoos sell on the side

TJs seafood market

rex's seafood

Also, people will rag me, but seriously Tom Thumb, Central Market and Kroger all sell them and ive done many boils with them. they are fine and all get them from LA

central market is getting theres from HEB so that's probably the highest quality.

Kroger had them for $2.99 last week for mediums. my buddy got a sack and said they were good

Yeah--I've heard about Tom Thumb, Kroger, etc., but always wondered as to the quality. That's good to know!

The seafood markets here seem to be selling at about 75 cents higher per pound.

Any suggestions on where to grab a burner/pot/etc.?

I've used Cajun Crawfish Co. in Lewisville once a year since 2006 or so and have never had a problem with either their service or product.

Just called Fiesta--said it's $1.59/lb and they are from Louisiana. That price seems mighty off to me (even for small ones). Tom Thumb and Kroger are selling in $3.50-$3.99 range. Any idea why that would be?

Fiesta is very small but they aren't bad

Kroger isn't bad. What about central market?

Bayou market is 3.75 in lewisville. Dude is from Lafayette

Loss leader

Probably small too and won't refund you if half the sack is dead

The guy that runs cajuncrawfish.com doesn't a lot of business in Dallas, maybe try to contact them through website.
