How are you certain because there are three 3 digit numbers printed?

I believe Julian dates that are 3 digits would not have a zero in front.

267 4 is what you look at. 267th day and the 4 refers to '14

fresh beer only

quote:

Lagunitas: Uses a bottling date. Julian date code which is written in black on the neck of the bottle. There are 2 lines. First line has 3 digits followed by a space, then one more digit. The first three digits represent the day of the year, last digit is the last number of the year. Ex: 135 3 would be the 135th day of 2013 (May 15). Second line is batch number and military time.

It's my understanding that many breweries use Julian because it is easier to code the machine that way

If we're throwing stone at Lagunitas, I'd like to add that the owner is a petulant douche.

Agreed. But I like some of their beer so he gets a pass in my book.

I frickin hate that best by shite. It's always inflated.

MEGA agreed. It's always like 3-4 months beyond what I would normally considerable purchasable.

YOU'RE BACK! And thanks for the details. EDIT But frick easier to code machines, I don't care, I consume, not produce. Cater to me, dammit
