Can't go wrong with Old Tyme Grocery near Johnston. Quick and friendly staff with the added benefit of one of the best poboys you'll ever eat.

None of the laf po boy places would last 3 months in New Orleans.

Johnson's Boucaniere, Pop's Poboys, and Bread & Circus are my favorite casual spots currently.

ETA: or you could just stop at Billy's and get some boudin and cracklin.

Acadian superette. Best plate lunch in town! Bon temps grill is great too.

Forgot about that place, that's out in Broussard right? I'm gonna have to make my way out there.

Kind of like how the gumbo made in New Orleans isn't worth a crap compared to what's made in Acadiana?

I'll second Acadiana Superette, Bon Temps, Johnson's, T-Coons, Pops and Old Tyme.

And I'll throw in Antler's.

Wouldn't say that, but the one that always gets voted the best in Lafayette is made from a mix.
