At 1030pm, the place had over 100 cars in the drive thru, and a line out the door to order inside.

This is sad.

Right outside Universal Studios. 10:30 PM. Closing time. Understandable.

I have noticed this as well. I get the box combo and the last several times at least one of the four pieces was tough or gristly. This was a rare occurrence before last year.

I'll give you credit for coming up with a new and fresh way for people to complain about Canes.

and Todd Graves ruined the jello shot challenge by making it his own publicity stunt. I have never ever understood the love for Canes other than something that you can take to an LSU football party when you didnt have time to grab or prepare anything else.

Yeah that was lame as hell. He took something so organic and ruined it - probably for good.

When I want a chicken tender meal, I now go to Texas Roadhouse. Theirs are bigger, more meaty, higher quantity, and priced pretty decently.

It was meant for college students who could pay $5 for a chicken finger meal (with 5 fingers and your choice of canes sauce or honey mustard). And they were open until 3:00 am.

Many of us ate Canes in college and still eat it. Now, it provides a different fast food option over hamburgers or tacos. It's a drive thru chicken finger option, which is great to have.

Yes, they took away a chicken finger and now prices are high, but it's still a good drive thru chicken finger option. Who doesn't like chicken fingers and french fries? They may not be the best chicken finger in the world but they are the best fast food chicken finger option that I have locally.

It's also a fantastic story of a local business built from the ground up and turned into a national chain. Todd and his partner literally fished in Alaska to raise money to open the first Canes.

I've never understood the shade some of you throw on Canes. Why? Becuase they are popular and you don't like them? If you don't like the fingers and if it's too much money for you, simply don't go. But why do you have to knock down those who like it?

you took a whole lot of liberties in my opinion of not understanding why folks like chicken fingers so much.

Back in college 20 years ago the chicken seemed to have some flavor. Now it is very bland and only edible with the sauce .

Fortunately, only had this experience once. If it were a regular thing for me, I'd be much like you - I would not eat again for a year, maybe more.

I can deal with a lot.. i can deal with the ever rising prices, since everything is expensive.. i can deal with the declining portion sizes .. what really annoyed me today, and ive seen people on here mention it before- is that the chicken tenders now have too much gristle.

Yesterday, I verified the gas station chicken tenders here are just a big and just as good as they ever were. not a lot more expensive as they were a year back.

I try to keep current on the state of the chicken bidness by having gas station chicken at least once a month.

Sadly for some folks opinion of me, I have never had any Canes chicken. I always thought it was too expensive for chicken tenders.

Have eaten Canes over the last two decades at probably a dozen different restaurants in MS, LA, TX, and CO.

Have noticed no decline in service, cleanliness, or tenders. Value wise, they're in family with their peer group. Probably a little better than CFA and below Popeyes.

The tender + sauce is a winning combo. Still bamboozled at the complaints aimed their way.

I go when I get the cravings
