Is there anywhere to get good Nashville style Hot Chicken in BR?

Overpass Merchant has had it. It may have been a daily special and not a regular menu item

It was real good. Everything I've had at Overpass Merchant has been good

While I like the merchants chicken, to me it jsut tasted like buffalo chicken bites.

Is that what hot chicken is? Ive never had authentic hot chicken.

Nashville hot chicken shouldn't taste like buffalo sauce. It's a blend of hot spices and basically oil that's spread on the chicken after being fried. The batter itself has heat as well. Real Nashville style hot chicken is uncomfortably hot. Like hold your breath when you take a bite wash your hands with vinegar hot.

I was in Nashville last weekend and I didn't go to one of the original places but pretty much this. It doesn't to be this hot, but it is not like eating chicken with just hot sauce on it. It's fried in, and most often it has a sweet aspect to it as well (often on a corn cake covered in honey).

Great balance of flavors when done right
