As s tech pro I find this very exciting.

What say you food board? An app that sends a recipe to your grill stick controls temp and time automatically to grill your food for you via a phone.

Sounds like you can't use a grill.

I doubt I'll ever use one, but I have no problem with it

I'm sure plenty of people thought the same as the replies above me about programmable ovens and whatnot

Sigh. I don't need my smartphone connected to everything. There's nothing wrong with the time tested tradition of cooking meat over a flame.

1) light grill
2) open beer
3) cook meat
4) enjoy meat

I thought the whole idea behind grilling was to stand around it with beer and stare at it. I guess this is good if you don't want to get too close and burn your skinny jeans. fricking kids these days...

You're missing a step there. Maybe the most important step.

Isn't this just the natural evolution? Slow cookers have been a thing forever. Nobody complains about sous vide machines with apps tied to smart phones. Or those Maverick Wireless Thermometers you can check from your phone. IMO, this is very similar to that, just using a database to recommend timings and such. I'm sure you can override it or do it manually if you want to.

I personally would feel more gratified doing it manually, but I wouldn't feel bad about someone using this, assuming the final product was good. I guarantee my uncle would buy one. There's a market for it.

I don't open a beer to not drink it. The drinking is implied by the opening.

I feel like this is marketed to people who don't really want to do much when they cook. Why would those people even buy a grill in the first place?
