Methinks this will be an epic fail...

After months of experimentation, we're proud to introduce Louisiana Spiced Ale! With hints of cayenne, celery, paprika, lemon peel and bay leaves, this beer has all the savory elements of a crawfish boil.

Wrong Board,

But you may be right. Abita Strawberry is best for crawfish boils because the sweet compliments the salty of the crawfish. This just seems redundant.

Would you describe the beer as a 'game manager' or say it 'gets guys lined up'? If yes then it will be a big hit with the rant.

I really don't have any problems with Abita, they make some good beers and some bad beers, but nothing about this sounds appealing.

I just picked up a six pack. I walked past it for a few days and finally caved into the novelty of it. I love beer. From Busch, PBR, to stouts IPAs and 99% of all the craft beers I have drank over the years.

So where does this interesting brew from Abita rank?
I never got rid of beer, poured it out, or trashed any. But I do think I can use this to maybe help my compost pile.
It is like a bud lime with a dash of cold leftover crawfish boil after about three sacks have been run through.

Ole Jockamo is dancing in the streets with his head held high. No longer the bottom dog at Abita

Around 1990, someone put out a "Cajun" beer. The only time I saw it was a stack in a BR drugstore marked way down to like $2 a six pack.

How bad could it be? I went for it because of the price.

You could see the flecks of pepper and spices in the otherwise BMC-type beer. It was horrible, and I threw it out after a couple swigs of one.

Sounds like Abita is bringing it back.

I drank one and it wasn't that bad. I could see some people liking it t. Not my favorite but pretty drinkable like most beer especially when buzzed.

They must have seen the crab boil blonde on tap at NOLA Brewing and tried to take it farther. Fail.

So I bought one and gave it a try. Imagine weak/lemony crawfish boil water with slight pepper and beer. It wasn't 'bad,' but it wasn't 'good.' After drinking one, there was no reason/desire to have another. Just not a pleasurable brew to enjoy.
