I can make a carrot, apple, kale juice in about 5 minutes. Is that fast? :rimshot:

...and no.

Never done a juice fast but I am on a post-NOLA detox right now. Mostly just fruit and salads and try to let my liver off the mat by drinking a bit less.

How long are you doing it? 3 days? If you have a juicer the possibilities are endless...

I watched the documentary, Fat, sick, and nearly dead two weeks ago. Ive never tried the actual fast, but I've been drinking fresh juice every morning since and seem to get a good jump start with mental clarity for the day. I mostly juice cucumbers, apples, celery, and carrots. My wife likes to add this juice to a blender with kale. The kale doesn't contain as much juice, but she likes it for some reason.

I'm not sure which one it is, other than it's the $90 one from Target. It's out in my car in the rain right now.

I have small goals that I hope to accomplish-the first one being ten days. I'm hoping to make it 60 days total. We'll see.

The kale is pretty gross. I prefer spinach, but eat some kale because of it's benefits.

Carrot juice is quite delicious.

Cleansing my system. The closer a food is to digested when it enters the system, the more nutrients you're able to absorb and utilize.

I thought you were only supposed to do these fast for 3-5 days at most?

I often do the juice only thing for a few days at a time. Except I call it a bender, not a fast.

You do realize that there is no such thing as "detox" right?

Right. Sounds like he is cleansing his system of his health.

And the whole cleansing thing is just BS anyway

It absolutely is. Any "toxins" that can be filtered/removed will be taken care of by your organs. At best, all a fast/cleanse/whatever will do is deprive your body of nutrients. At worst, you'll wind up in the hospital.

Completely false. The fiber in those fruits and veggies will do more to "cleanse you system" than drinking your calories.

ETA: And Power man is right...the detox/body cleanse thing is bullshite.

Damn poor guy got beat up like he was in the OT. If he was on a bad diet then the nutrients/vitamins in the juice will be good but I dont see how he can make it 60 days. Baby wipes, spot on!
