You're incorrect. Weight is a measurement of force, not mass. Calories are a measurement of energy, not mass. Besides, you make assumptions about basal metabolic rate without any additional data. And there's no consideration of energy expenditure.

One can absolutely alter weight that quickly. OP didn't say he lost 7 lbs of fat.

On a low carbohydrate diet, liver and muscle glycogen change as well as water retention. Water manipulation is the fastest method to alter weight. That's why weight-class athletes intentionally dehydrate themselves.

I eat low carb almost exclusively and grill nearly every night. There are countless options for grilled meat with some vegetables. If you grill extra, you can even make a salad for lunch the following day with leftovers.

Unsweetened whipped cream is a great low carb dessert...garnish with a sprinkle of unsweetened cocoa powder or espresso powder.

Nom Nom Paleo has some good recipes. I do paleo/primal and am down about 70lbs since last May. Try the Uova In Purgatorio for a main dish and Mexican Chocolate Pots De Creme for dessert.

How do you stop stink mouth on low carb diets? Everyone I known that did low carb diets like atkins had the most rotten breath. Never wanted to do it because of that.

Carry TicTacs.

I can lose 10 pounds in a day by following my wife's diet on a Summer day. It's called a honey do list and it's a back breaker as well.

Tonight we had spaghetti squash with a light organic marinara and grass fed ground sirloin. Good stuff.

I keep it simple and avoid all these recipes (not knocking them though).

Grill any protein source.

Grill or roast in the oven non-starchy veggies: brocc, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, etc in olive oil and sea salt.

Salad.

Done.

I try to stay away from sauces, as they can get calorie-heavy very easily.

Train yourself to eat like this, and fried food only sparingly, and you can make a positive change in your health and your weight.

You do get some carbs on paleo. It's just in the form of fruits and vegetables. Cutting out processed foods, soft drinks, beer, etc makes a huge difference.
