I found this article from the New York Times

Cast Iron Seasoning

On how to season your cast iron skillet.

The NEW YORK CITY TIMES??!!!????!?!??!?????? WHAT WOULD A BUNCH OF NEW YORK CITY YANKEES KNOW ABOUT CAST IRON SKILLETS???!?!??!???!!!????!

Actually, IMO they give good advice, mostly because they agree with me - no doubt they read my stuff on Tiger Droppings and then just copied what I wrote.

The treat comes in the comments section, which consists of a series of disagreements about proper seasoning method that would make the argumentative folks on the Tiger Droppings Food and Drink Board proud.

Makes for good reading on a Sunday afternoon.

Most of these authors are journalism majors masquerading as 'experts'.
