Ok, I got a sack of crawfish in an ice chest w/ a wet towel over it and the lid cracked. What else do I need to do? Ice w/ the drain open?

For tomorrow.

I'm doing the same... Keep ice on em and don't let the melted water drown them

Ice (no bag) on top of crawfish or piercing the bag with knife is recommended. As ice melts, the water dripping down will keep gills moist which is necessary for respiration. Definitely keep drain plug open

Best way to keep crawfish alive: cover them with ice, let the ice drain out, and most importantly, don't boil them.
