I agree that word gets tossed around quite a bit.

But, some people just don't enjoy food the way that others do. My husband, for example, can eat a ton, but he doesn't enjoy food the way I do. I love tasting new things and eating really good meals. He is just as happy eating a pizza as he is eating at a nice restaurant.

What single word would you use to replace it?

I see it a lot on Instagram and laugh at it.

I could be mistaken them. Food could be their hobby. I have no clue.

Yeah he's attacking the word instead of the idea. Makes for a pretty base discussion.

I don't think I have ever referred to myself as a foodie, but it is a single word that sums it up.

Today's world is all about attention span.

Don't really have a problem with the word.

But then again, I don't think being called a "foodie" is a negative thing.

People aren't usually called "foodie." People usually refer to themselves as such.

I prefer to be called "fatty" or "drunky" than "foodie."

It can be snobby depending on how it's used. Still not sure if another good word to use to replace it

Seriously? In my experience it's been the exact opposite.

You're still attempting to play up a persona, in your case that of the everyman. Which is just as lame IMO.

I will always think of you as a fatty first.

Btw, not all fatty's or drunky's adhear to the description that "foodie" is currently used to describe.

so foodies aren't just normal folks that like food, or everymen? Maybe the label does kinda suck.

I like epicurean. Another old word would be gourmand, but that sort of had a douchier connotation than foodie. Probably explains why Tom Fitz refers to himself as one.

Are you on Instagram?

Persona? That's rich.
