I haven't been, but someone brought me some of this. I agree, it's off the charts.

If the chosen one thinks it is a cool place it's probably not for me.

STQ is better than B&B Butchers. Dinner reservations are running about 4-6 weeks out but there is first-come service at the small bar area. It's normally full also. You will leave STQ smelling like wonderfully amazing smoke that will remind you to return soon. Killen's A5 Strip is butter and the bacon bread pudding will knock your socks off.
tried to get a reservation at STQ recently, but it's so damn booked up there.

we decided on Steak 48 instead...meh is all I'll say.

We are eating at Riel tonight, I will come back with a review + pics. Should be interesting....

Killen knows what the hell he is doing and that can't be denied. Guess, I'm going to put my name in and eagerly await my reservation. Thank you so much for making it sound awful...

Necropost bump, but I ate here tonight, and I thought it was phenemonal.

Got the hanger steak and bacon sausage smothered greens. The bread and the seasoned tallow was awesome. Really didn't even realize the tallow wasn't just a decorative candle.

Can't see those pics Bus, can you re-up?

I had to go again last week before they swapped over to the new concept. Had the ribeye, the lady got the hanger. Ribeye was incredible, hanger was a little too salty but I enjoyed it. Also got oysters (in July, fight me), wedge salad and the fondue mashed potatoes. A little over two weeks left until they shut down in August. I'm hoping the seafood concept will be like Peche.

Definitely better than B&B and Steak 48, on par with STQ. My next steakhouse endeavor will be out to Killen's in Pearland in September for my birthday.

I just officially moved to Houston on July 5th, so I'm making my way through the food scene. This was my first proper steak house besides hitting up the $14 steak nights at MKT Bar downtown (quite good for the price).

B&B not good? It's down the street from my place, so I was going to check it out eventually.

So there's Killen's STQ, Killen's Steakhouse, and Killen's BBQ?

The BBQ place (and all the rest of the BBQ places) are my on my short list of places to try.

The lady and I hit up this place a couple weeks ago. It was okay. I think I may have hyped it up way too much in my mind.

We ordered the shaved wagyu short rib for the app which was really damn good.

I went with the lamb loin and it was really good. She ordered the hangar steak which came out pretty salty - too much for her liking and almost too salty for me. Got the bacon sausage creamed greens as a side, and I wasn't that impressed with them. The grunge rock music was unexpected but we were cool with it.

The whiskey list here is long. I liked that they offered smaller pours so you could try a few without having to be carried home.

They've got great meat at B&B but I've never been impressed the times I've been. If you are close, a couple of drinks at Liberty Station or Julep and a walk to B&B isn't a terrible evening.

There's also a Killen's Burgers in Pearland but haven't checked that out yet.

At his BBQ place they recently switched to wagyu brisket from Snake River Farms in Idaho, went last Friday around 11:30, line was about 10-15 minutes. The hype has died down a little but still was great. Had pork belly burnt ends on special

Pit Room is now suffering from their ranking on Texas Monthly's BBQ list. Went a couple of weeks ago on a Friday right at 11 - had the longest line I've ever seen. When you do hit up PR and the interior is too crowded they own the Patio (bar) next door with more beer / seating.

I wonder if this was a by product of their dry age technique. I had a couple of bites but I don't know if I could have eaten the entire cast iron.

The first time we went, we split the porterhouse. It was the best steak I've ever had. Now I'm hungry

Also one of the best drink specials on Mondays. Half price on all whiskeys. Weller 12 for $4, Blanton's for $6 and even had a TH Handy pour for $11 (obviously that bottle went fast).
