About 20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed by the rice, then another 10 minutes or so after adding the chicken, sausage, and shrimp. I prefer to use cooked chicken. Don't overcook the rice.

I brown the chicken and sausage. (10 min maybe?)
Sautee veggies (10 min again)
Add stock and bring to boil
Dumb in rice bring back to boil
Put on lid, cut heat. 15-20 min

So prob around 45 min, not counting prep

I have a quick version and a long version

quick version (uncle bens and kitchen bouquet) takes 45 min
it's ok but not as good obviously as the real thing
I make it on weeknights sometimes

the real thing takes 2.5 hrs and it's a bit of work at the pot
it's a weekend thing and usually for company or at the camp

It takes me at least 2 hours including prep with one pot but I brown the heck out of the onions. Browning the meat on a sheet pan in the oven will cut your time down a good bit.
