Dallas area crawfish alert
Kroger has a newspaper ad – live crawfish in approximately 35 pound sacks for $1.99 a pound Friday, Saturday and Sunday while supplies last. I’ve got a sack reserved for Friday at a Kroger store near me in Frisco. I have no idea about the size or quality of the crawfish, but at this price in north Texas it’s too good to pass up. The manager said all the Kroger’s in the area will have between 3 to 10 sacks or more if special order. She said she doesn’t expect to sell a lot at her location so I maybe be able to play "let’s make a deal” for a second boil Saturday for the Spring game if they have some left.
I pulled out the burner and fired it up as a test today. Worked well but don’t know how much propane is left. I will pick up a spare tomorrow. Beer run in the morning.

quote:What part of the paper? I must have missed it. Want to see if they'll have boiled crawfish out front like they do sometimes. I've gotten it there and, for the price, it's not bad for a displaced Louisianian who will take any crawfish I can get.

That's cheaper than what we're paying in BR right now. Ridiculous.

Where in Frisco do you live? I'm coming over for crawfish and the game! Ok thanks!

It is in the weekly advertising piece that came in the mail. On the bottom under "Lenten Seafood!" there is a picture of some boiled crawfish. You might want to call some Kroger stores in your area because the ad does say "in selected stores" and "while supplies last".
