Even though it's not as good as it once was, I am still fond of Trey Yeun for Chinese.

I second Tacos and Beer, pretty cool little spot with awesome tacos. Chookie's has a pretty good oyster po-boy though.

I haven't been in quite some time but I always enjoyed Jacmel Inn. And while it gets beaten down on here I've been eating the old Hi Ho BBQ beef and pork sandwiches since 1963 and still eat them on occasion.

For breakfast/brunch, check out Yellow Bird.

Tope La is always a good option for lunch or dinner.

My favorite is Mariner's.

You can get a good burger, cooked the way you want it, with a loaded tator as a side for $7. Plus cheap PBR on draft.

Topela is my favorite place there. Lots of options. Pretty nice place.

For laid back, Tommy's on Thomas. I second the buffalo breadsticks. They also have a good beer selection.
