haloumi cheese

Anyone here ever cook this? If so, how and did you put anything on it for seasoning? Thanks.

re: haloumi cheese
Yea, used olive oil.

You need to get the oil real hot, cut slices of cheese not to thick but not too thin. I threw some minced garlic in and fried on each side about 1-2 mins until the golden brown color is achieved.

The first time I cooked it, I barely sprinkled any garlic powder on it, and I thought I over did it. Last few times I've cooked it w/o garlic powder and it has came out very tasty.

It needs the garlic flavor, but garlic can burn and not taste so good if it's too brown. Have to have a fine line there in the oil.

Whatever you do don't salt it. It is a salty cheese as is.

Yes, I found this out the first time I cooked it.

Ok, thanks for the responses. It is not something to throw on the grill?
