Hope this is alright to post here. Thought this was a cool thing for Great Raft to do to try and help out.

Our friends in South Louisiana are facing unprecedented devastation. There are countless people opening their homes, lending a hand, and donating items to help friends and total strangers begin the path to rebuild. Many of you know that the Great Raft Brewing family has a soft spot for animals and does a lot within the NWLA community to help local shelters raise money, rehome and save animals. Our friends at Cara's House in Sorrento, LA lost their entire shelter. Luckily, all their animals were saved and re-located to other shelters and Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales. However, they will have to start over and rebuild their entire shelter from the ground up. Starting today, we'll be helping them raise money and collect donations to get their shelter back in shape ASAP so they can continue the great work they are doing to save and care for animals.

We are raffling off one of our empty 23 yr Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels to help raise money for Cara's House, an animal shelter in Ascension Parish that was completely destroyed in the flooding. Starting today, we're selling raffle tickets. Each ticket is $10 and every dollar will go straight to the shelter. This bourbon barrel housed one of the worlds most elusive bourbons, and then it was used to age our May 2015 batch of Old Mad Joy. The winner will also receive swag donated by Buffalo Trace Distillery. The winner will be announced on 9/1 at our College Football Kickoff Party and Fundraiser party. We will also announce the winner on our Facebook page and website, and contact the winner via email.

What a scam. A schwegmann's bourbon barrel if I've ever seen one. Can't just write pvw on the top of the barrel in chalk and magically change it

Is this another you have to be there when the winner is announced? It is great that they are doing this but I wouldn't mind owning that for my patio.

What's it like to be so miserable?

There are lots of people "in need" of locating their lost animals as well.

Did I say this?

Good marketing ploy by BT, but I said there's no such thing as a PVW barrel.

I guess I'll put it on my patio. I'm gonna get a couple of tickets, so I'm bound to win.

well sort of, Pappy is a mixture of bourbons made at Buffalo Trace, Stitzel-Weller, and Bernheim. So technically there are no "Pappy" barrel's
