I was looking at a map of the area surrounding our hotel and all I saw were shitty chains.

If you want to eat on Disney property.

Whispering Canyon inside the Wilderness Lodge.
1900 Park Fair inside the Grand Floridian.
Boma inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Whispering Canyon is the best, IMO.

This is my husband's favorite! We go there every trip. They have an all you can eat barbeque skillet that they'll refill and it has ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, mashed potatoes, beans, corn on the cob, corn bread and salad. And you can order bottomless milkshakes that you can change the flavor on. They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cotton candy, caramel. It's so much food and if you're on the dining plan, it's all included!

My favorites are Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and Yak and Yeti (the table service not the quick service) at Animal Kingdom.

Honestly there is nothing around there but chains. I lived there for about a year and it sucked. There were only like one or two decent original restaurants in all of Orlando.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is fun if you have kids. Have to make reservations. I remember laughing alot when I went as a kid.

All you can eat fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, veggies, baked beans, cornbread. Unlimmited beer, wine, and non-alcohalic drinks.
