I'm more concerned with environment, scenery, and culture of the place. What do ya got?

Humpy's Alaskan Alehouse, good beer selection and all sorts of local seafood/game options.
I was only there for a night, so that's the only place I can comment on... sure there are plenty of other good spots too.

Where are you staying? If you're not booked up yet, the Captain Cook hotel is awesome. Great environment reflecting the region. There was a great seafood restaurant in it when I went, but I'm a little hesitant to recommend a hotel restaurant to you.

The lakefront which was formally the millenium, not sure on how good the food is, but get to watch airplanes take off and land in the water over the balcony

Ended up eating at the Peanut Farm. Pretty cool place with a nice little view out back.
