There's a ton of stuff to chose from at and around the North Gates. Nothing that stands out though

F, you have to be kidding. The places at the North gate are crappy assed franchise outlets almost without failure. Get away from the campus by about two miles and then you find a larger amount of options to try.

Chelsea's. best casual food in BR and you can cut through the lakes to get there the back way so it's not a far drive at all.

Chelsea's.
If he's looking for a lively game day atmosphere, Chelsea's ain't it. I've stopped in for a beer and app while waiting on friends to head out to campus, and it's been dead. If "game day crowd" doesn't matter. Good rec.

Oh, well yeah Chelsea's won't have "gameday" atmosphere. But the vibe of the place itself is pretty cool anyway IMO. If you're looking for gameday atmosphere, the same handful of places are your only options. WalkOns, Chimes, Serranos (I think their food is gross), Mellow Mushroom.. pretty much anything on campus. As far as off campus, Tj Ribs and Sammy's.

None of these are probably hidden gems you've never been to though

I've only been there once in my life and it was a month or so ago when we have that "hurricane".. and it was to grab something to-go. So I have no idea what the gameday atmosphere is there

I've stopped at acme for lunch on my way into campus for most games this season. Frosty goblets of beer, raw and chargrilled oysters, a peacemaker, and plenty of tvs to take in some football.
