In town with my girlfriend and looking for some tasty crawfish. I know Crawfish Hole #2 in Minden is supposed to be legit, but I'm not sure we'll be able to make the drive. Any other suggestions?

I'm looking to get some already boiled, not live, in case that wasn't clear.

If you're okay with taking them home to eat, Crawfish Tyme on E. 70th does the best in town. If you're looking to eat/drink a beer with them you're options are pathetically limited. Crawfish Palace is the only reliable one I know about.

As Gary and Ross indicated, the options in town are pretty bleak for sitting down and eating them. I honestly haven't had any in Shreveport that I would recommend that serves them in-house. If you have the option to bring them somewhere to eat, then Crawfish Tyme is the most reliable. I've had good ones from Shaver's on occasion but more often than not they are either poor quality crawfish or overcooked since they sat in an icechest too long. Shane's seasons the outside of the crawfish - enough said.

I generally have good luck with Shaver's, but our orders are usually such that he will cook a batch when we pick it up, so I don't usually get just 10-20 lbs.

River City Grille in Bossier City is supposed to have good crawfish. I've never eaten them, but I've heard/read good things.

Another place in Bossier is Kims. He's a NOLA transplant. Not a good beer selection (if that matters) but I've heard good things

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think we might do Crawfish Tyme. Although I just saw a trailer in the parking lot of The Market restaurant at the southern loop exit on Norris Ferry. Might give that a shot because it's really close to my parents house. Anybody tried it before?

I think he just does catering gigs for crawfish. I could be wrong though

River City Grille on Benton Rd in Bossier City. Sit on the covered patio, eat crawfish, and drink cold beer. Great atmosphere.

You gotta be careful!

Almost every place in Shreveport/ Bossier sprinkles the seasonings on the crawfish after they boil... instead of letting them soak. Crazy right! They are a gritty mess.

River City Grill on Benton Rd is probably the closest thing to crawfish boiled like down South.

The Market is good...I live close by and have had their crawfish several times this year.

Crawfish Tyme is not as good as it used to be...the crawfish are often overcooked and over-seasoned. And I LOVE spicy food...

Picked up 10lbs from Crawfish Tyme, and ate them on the back patio. They were pretty good. They were made to order, and everyone enjoyed them.

I'm going to be here a few more days. I might try out The Market before I leave since I don't know when the next time I'll be in Louisiana during crawfish season will be.

Thanks for the recs. Saved me from going to Shane's.

The Market has damn good crawfish - I would recommend it. You are able to order and eat there. They have a pretty decent bar selection, too.

Only open for dinner Wed-Sat and Mon.

Got 10 lbs., corn, and potatoes today at Crawfish Tyme. That was damned good crawfish. Good size (not even the pricier select) and plenty of spice and flavor.

It was already cooked when we bought, but it must not have sat long. It was like fresh cooked.

Hell, even the corn and potatoes were better than most.
