I liked the atmosphere. Wasn't nearly as cramped as I thought it would be. But I could see it getting really loud. I did like witnessing the total change from quiet and romantic to bustling as it got busier and people were table hopping.
And the service was formal but friendly and not stuffy so that was a definite plus in my book.

Gautreau's succeeds at what every restaurant aims for: consistency. The food is excellent every time, the service is top notch every time.
