For those with outdoor kitchens, which appliances/features do you have?

Besides a grill, what else do you have? Side burner? fridge? sink? what about storage/drawers? trash bin?

I like the idea of a beverage chiller, but might be a waste of space:

Haven't decided if I want to build an outdoor kitchen yet, but want to investigate options.

Gas grill, side burner, sink with a sprayer faucet, refrigerator and some doors to hide stuff away.

I wish I would have put some upper cabinets to store thing and I a larger wider vent to catch some of the spill over smoke.

A stainless steel backsplash behind the grill because it doesn't take long for painted surfaces to start looking smokey.

Gas grill, side burner, fryer, Primo Oval XL, "Sonic" style ice maker, hot water heater, instant hot water at tap, deep dish sink, garbage disposal, pull out faucet and refrigerator.

And two ceiling fans. All lights and fans are dimmable. And more electrical outlets than I know what to do with, even at top of brick columns.

If you decide to proceed with outdoor setup, I highly recommend hiring a landscape architect. Too much money you'll be "investing" to not do it right with your space.

My setup

Go back to page one for beginning pictures.

It looks like I have a serial down voter based upon my last four posts.

Beverage chiller would be a waste of space, imo.

I have:
Fridge
Large, single compartment sink
Cabinet underneath sink
Grill
Side Burner
Drawers/cabinet under grill
Ice Machine
Trash compartment
Outlets everywhere
Mounted TV/Speakers
Twin ceiling fans

and my personal favorite, a mounted misting fan

The more stuff you put out there, the more stuff that has to be cleaned and it is constantly getting grimy especially now with pollen season right around the corner. I'd recommend getting a sink with a cover if you can find one. My next project is to make one out of butcher block or something similar for mine. Leaves and all kinds of other crap are always getting in it. A disposal isn't a bad idea, either.

how long have you had an ice machine outside? How is it holding up? I may just get an ice machine installed inside my house.

Almost two years for me. I clean it monthly. And turn it off when I know I am not going to need it for a while.

HOSHIZAKI

Best brand out there.

Be careful if you decide to put it inside. Puts off a tremendous amount of heat.

Inside or outside, this is a product that you will want to purchase the extended warranty, and keep it current. I promise!!

I have the deep fryer outside in a granite countertop. It is hard wired to 220.

I have the ice machine in the garage. It makes 400lbs a day. Too much but the neighbors never buy ice.

It is the Hoshizaki and don't buy any other brand. Mine is 13 years old with zero problems. Cubed not cut. The cut ice has blades and they tend to have more trouble.

just my 2 cents: Hoshizaki is the best ice maker money can buy. Make sure you have more than enough power available for the electrical appliances. A 220v fryer will heat up and recover much quicker than a 110v if you go the electric route. keep in mind it will outdoors so items that are heavier duty and stainless steel are a must.
