Going to boston for the day. Need some food and any other recommendations y'all might have.

Eat lunch at Neptune Oyster Bar. Dinner there is always WAY too long of a wait.
Then, go to the Fort Point location of Trillium Brewing. Bring me back as many packs of their IPA and PAs as possible.

I can throw together a quick list for food:
Cambridge
- the hourly oyster
- the park
- Russel house tavern
Fort Point
- Row 34
- pickup some beer in the trillium Brewery
Charlestown
- the brewers fork
Downtown
- bostonia public house
- tap trailhouse
- 21st amendment
- Neptune (if you can stand the wait)
South end
- 5 horse tavern
Fenway Area
- Tapestry
Also get out in the burbs in Everett and hit up night shift Brewery.
As for things to do...just walk around and get lost in the city. Boston is a very walkable city with solid public transit and a bike share program that will get you around efficiently. The historic stuff is great, but don't go overboard on the tours/touristy stuff...see the sights at your own pace.
Hit up a Sox game if they are in town, Fenway is a temple in the sport of baseball, and anyone who is a fan of the sport should go.

Search prior threads. They may have been moved to the Travel board, not sure.
A few posters here have already put together some excellent tips and itinerary suggestions. I went last year, had a great time.
Best meal we had was at A Table at Season to Taste in Cambridge. Had to book it months in advance.
Second best meal was at Winsor Dim Sum. Odd experience but great food.
Best individual food item I had was probably a hot lobster roll from Neptune Oyster. Be ready to wait for a table.

Ristorante Fiore on the north end.
Row 34 for Ersters
Go have drinks on top of the Prudential building.
Loco Taqueria in southie for good Mexican food.
Worden Hall for a badass burger.
Trillium Beer garden the rest of the time.
Mike's pastries may or may not be worth the wait.
Duk boat tour......it's a right of passage when you go to Boston.

I'm really glad you enjoyed that place so much.
Executive chef is a friend of mine. Really great guy.

This guy knows what's up.
And it was a really great restaurant. Service, atmosphere, food.. soup to nuts it was a great meal. Thank you for the tip. That's one of those places that doesn't usually show up on "places to eat while visiting" lists.
My chef buddy and I keep threatening to make a weekend trip up there literally just to eat there.

If you decide to pull the trigger let me know. I'll have Carl hook you up.
