Went for lunch today. $14.75 for a burger, fries, and a drink. That's way too much, might as well go to a place like Red Robin for that price.

Edit: Receipt for proof. This is ridiculous for a casual service place. And toppings are no extra charge no matter how many you get.

Agree. For the money, Red Robin is definitely the better value.

For $14.75 its around the same price, burgers are bigger and better, and bottomless fries too.

Seriously. Could have gotten you some never ending pasta bowl for that kind of coin.

They're about to open one on the Westbank. I predict it'll be closed within a year.

I hate Yelp reviewers and loved the South Park episode, I don't review on Yelp, but this is a valid complaint.

A place like this should run you no more than $10 for a burger/fries/drink. $15 is too much for one meal at a casual service place.

Almost $2.50 for a drink? That's absurd but that's where places like that make the most money.

People are willing to pay it. But you have to wonder if they would do better if they charged less. Their prices are losing a customer like me. How many other customers like me feel priced out of the place, and would they profit more if they lowered prices to pull people like me back in?

If you can eat more fries than the $3.49 order at Five Guys, you are or will be a major fatty.

I don't think their margins are particularly high where they can just cut prices to satisfy people like you who expect McDonalds pricing.

I've been exactly one time. It was okay. I can hit the Backyard Burger drive-thru for a very comparable product for half the cost.

If I want to sit down I can go to Bonefish across the street from 5 guys and get the "American Kobe" beef burger, fries and a drink for what you pay at 5 guys.

I don't, but they could at least have In-n-Out prices or prices that match other places like Five Guys.

In-N-Out I can do the burger/fries/shake under $10.

Five Guys is approaching lower tier sit down restauarants like Red Robin, Chilis, and Crapplebees.

Even Fuddruckers is cheaper than Five Guys and in my opinion they are better.

The amount of fries 5 Guys gives you may as well be bottomless. If you eat all that by yourself, you've got bigger issues.

And you ordered a double bacon cheese burger. That's pretty much the going rate for a meal like that anywhere that isn't on happy hour pricing. And 5 Guys is definitely a step up from the regular fast food places, so you can't compare their prices to that.

ETA: I just find it kind of funny you ordered the most expensive thing they sell, and are then bitching about the price. Not to mention, just about anywhere else is going to charge you to add mushrooms to the burger. And before you say lots of places have mushroom burgers, I'll preemptively counter with then you'd have to add bacon to them.

Five Guys is closer to shake shack which is priced the same and will do well as they continue to expand. In-N-Out is fine, but they restrict locations to the west coast to keep pricing down and a double double is two 2oz patties where as Five Guys is two 3.3 oz patties. Five Guys could cut their prices and get closer to In-N-out by giving customers less meat, but they think their beefier burger is a winner.

ETA - would be very excited if New Orleans could get a shake shack and In-N-out

The menu sure didn't say double.

There's the little and the big (and a kid's one I believe). You're more than welcome to ask the people working there what that means if you couldn't figure it out on your own.

ETA: And that has nothing to do with you ordering the most expensive thing they sell.
