I was told when these kegs go not to expect to see Alpine around again for 6 to 12 months. I hope it isn't true, but if so...

Portland has only been getting kegs for a few months. We haven't been getting flooded with it - just a slow trickle. I've not seen any bottles, yet.

Alpine was bought out by Green Flash, supposedly because Alpine wanted to expand beyond being a local cult beer. They have stepped up production and plan to use the Green Flash distribution network to increase the exposure.

If Yeezy's statement is true, it looks like they may not be producing enough to go full distro to everyone in Green Flash's network, but may be sending out kegs here and there. That sort of looks like what they are doing in Portland - You don't see it everywhere, but usually someone has it some Alpine on tap, somewhere in town.

I don't know of any. Chimes is doing flights of Nelson, Duet, Hoppy Birthday and Captain Stout.

There was a thread on the Houston Craft Beer FB page yesterday discussing this. Some guy noted Alpine's disappointment in seeming lack of enthusiasm in the Houston market??

Link?

ETA: And that's just what I was told, Jax. I'd assume the person that told me would know, but perhaps B can shed some light on the situation. He tends to be better informed than most.

Basically, from what I understand, Louisiana wasn't supposed to get any Alpine. However, the owner of Courtyard Brewery was able to pull some strings with his Sandy Eggo connections and get us a small, one time shipment on the latest Green Flash truck.
