There have been threads with really good info, but from what I see, the city is PACKED with amazing stuff.

They have a huge Ethiopian food scene, and I recommend trying that while you're there. Interesting food.

I did Ray's Hell Burger while I was in Arlington seeing the cemetery (which I saw the day they put the wreaths on each headstone for Christmas and it was breathtaking). Burger was legit.

I went to a little Italian place called Odeon Cafe that had the most fantastic lobster ravioli of my life. But really.. it seems there are so many gems.

I was limited because I got stuck there for 13 days during snowmageddon and a lot of places were shut down.

Yeah I am just starting to plan since I secured our hotel this weekend. Haven't decided if we are flying, driving, or possibly the train.

That's your call, but I HATE road trips. I'm a flyer.

I guess I could be swayed if with the right person though. Maybe.

The train seems interesting really....
I don't want to drive but it is cheaper than flying

This is my take on it.

Driving/train requires 2 days at least of your time. So.. take a week off of work? 2 days wasted driving/riding. You're looking at a 5 day trip vs. 7 day.

Some people love it though.

NBD - Parish GitM b3

I'm getting more Galaxy characteristics and less Citra compared to b2. Still great, but I would like a little more tropical notes.

Train is not cheaper than flying when everything is considered. shite adds up with a room and meals.

Well I have all summer
She on the other hand can take up to 7 days off at a time, maybe train to Washington DC and fly back.... wonder what the cost would be.... 2 days to just relax and see the sights on a train.

This too. I've heard to be comfortable on a train you pay $$$$$$.

As LL said, the city is packed with a lot of awesome places. Clydes in Georgetown and the one close to China town are really good places to eat. There are a lot of really good brunch spots in Georgetown as well...can't think of the names right now.

The city has so much to offer...go explore it.

And my bro did the train a couple years ago...took awhile but said it was easy and cool to see the scenery. They have a dining car/bar that sounded pretty cool. We've also driven...that's a long drive, but it's pretty scenery.

FBD is a bomber of lagunitas imperial stout. It was the lowest ABV that I had cold and ready to drink.

This is my take on it too. Still great, but I miss the tropical fruit.

For beer, ChurchKey has the best selection in town. Granville Moores on H is great for muscles and beer.
