So what I'm hearing is I buy shitty Jester King beer.

They have really stepped up their game lately with the fruited sours. However, pretty much all of them have been brewery-only releases.

I bought the Black Metal because I felt like I had heard it was really awesome, but I guess it was Funk Metal I had heard about. Oh well. It wasn't bad by any means, I just wanted more from it. But I love to try beer, so trying anything is a fun experience for me.

Black metal is a good beer, but imho the pre-farmhouse black metal was much better.

and the only time I get access to JK is the limited access I get in AL which probably doesn't include the good stuff

JK doesn't distribute the good stuff anywhere anymore that I know of. I can't get their good stuff in Dallas. They have changed their license to a Brew Pub I believe, because of the new Texas Laws. They sell directly at their brewery outside Austin. And the brewery is an awesome place to drink a few beers. It's on a hill country ranch/ farm house and they have a mind boggling guest tap list too. Stuff you can't usually get anywhere in Texas.

Nah, man. I was a no-name. Less than 1k posts. And like I said, no FBD posting.

I feel like your comment is probably teasing, but I don't get it. Oops. I haven't been around that long.

I've seen pics that people have posted in here. I'd drink there in a heartbeat. Looks awesome. Super tranquil. Like a great spot to drink and shoot the shite. Maybe medicate. You know. All the good stuff.

If you didn't have to drive 5 miles on a narrow blacktop with some twists and turns to get out of there. They should provide a shuttle bus from austin. It would be worth paying $15 to not jave to drive back to austin. My brother lives about 10 miles from JK so I may crash in my nephews bed next time

Yeah? So. I can get a lot of it. What are you willing to trade for it?

But seriously, you want it, get my # through BXN. I can work something out.

I guess I've stopped posting my beers. I'm on my last Hop Rising. So...7BD

Don't tease me. I'll demand that Westy-clone or Zappasdust. Or whatever awesome homebrew you have going on over there. I hear shite. I know you've got it going on. I'd trade Wicked Weed for that in a heartbeat.

Those three little words can make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside...
Out For Delivery

While we were in CA, my wife ventrured out of her comfort zone and tried several sours (we were at Russian River, after all) and found that she can enjoy them. It was a proud moment for me to see her beer tastes evolve that way. I told my wife that our boxes from CA should be delivered today, and she would be able to enjoy the wine she bought. It was at that point the true consequences of the trip were realized, when she replied "I think I'd rather have a sour."

what have I done?

yes. to her credit, she keeps trying different beers. She drank stouts, porters and sours the whole trip.

She even drank Parabola, which is a big step for her, since she doesn't like whiskey.
