So for my FBD I finally tried the Covington IPA on tap while out to lunch. I am still yet to try a good brew from them.
I support my local breweries and enjoy a handful of Abitas, but Covington needs to get their shite together.

One of the owners lives in my hood. We got in a conversation about beer and he admitted that their IPA was not very good but their beers sold well enough. I'm going to work on him changing things up a bit. I haven't been but he says the tap house is legit.

All brewers need those money makers which should allow them to experiment in making a great beer. I can't hate on places like Abita, Covington, etc since people do buy their products but right now it seems only Parish, Great Raft, and Gnarley Barley is trying to make a "great" beer. Other places just seem content to make average beer and well make money, (again nothing wrong with this.)

They may sell well enough, but they have zero following.
Abitas andygator and turbo dog are just "good" beers nowadays, but 15 yrs ago those 2 put them on the map. Covington needs a signature beer.

I agree td and mouth. As beer enthusiasts we want them to make the best beer possible and we think that should be their goal too. Unfortunately they're looking at bottom lines and I'm guessing it would be risky to mix things up. I want to say the brewer from Covington is the bassist from cowboy mouth

Wonder how many batches Parish, Gnarley, and Great raft throw out before they decide to sell to the public. Sure a lot of places do the same though, even those at Abita.

My buddies old dog is on the turbo dog label now. Pretty cool but I still ain't drinking it unless he is buying. He lives in aspen.

FBD while I start my first attempt at real baking. Picked ahout 20 lbs of blackberries this morning so the wife requested a rustic blackberry tart.
