Bullfrickinshit. I've been to smith st. at least 5 times in 2015, and they have never had fresh DJ. I look every time.

Fresh DJ is top tier IMO

Likewise I've really enjoyed the fat heads I've had this week

Think we are going to check out Grayton brewery tomorrow afternoon before dinner

Spec's on Smith Street has Double Jack dated 03/30, so fresher.

Also, Wookey is an awesome beer. I'm normally not to gun-ho on Black IPAs because in too many instances, the hop flavor and smell in those beers seem to be smothered by the "roastiness".

Wookey maintains the great nose and taste.

oh watch out, we got a tough guy who knows everything about smith street.

Ham is right, it's gone immediately and everyone leaves the old stuff. That's why there's always a hole on the shelf.

I'm just here to kick arse and drink beer. Looks like I'm outta beer.

Your logic makes no sense baw. They can't "sell out in 2 days" if they have left overs from several different dates. I've seen many brew dates. I was there last week at smith st. They had brews from feb 15 and nov 14 (it may have been 10/30/14 can't recall). Regardless, if they were selling out they would never have shelf turfs.

That's like saying stein's sold out of ghost in 2 days but they have batch 3 still sitting on the shelf.

Yea, this is a major nut kick! However, I found two fresh bottles at the country Kroger by me a while back but they haven't restocked since I cleaned them out.

Same here. I am not a huge fan of the style, but I do prefer and enjoy the ones that are more hop forward on the nose.

Amazing....because the bottles at my big city Kroger were all dated 10-14 about 2 weeks ago.

Looks like my logo is falling apart. This one's for Lance McCullers Jr.
Chocolate nose, velvety caramel mouthfeel and a nutty finish.

LBD is a Hop Delusion.

After all my DinnerLab cocktails, I came home and just booked flights and hotel for Chicago for Jones' graduation gift. WOOOT

I liked it.....and I don't like malty DIPAs. Cafe Racer 15 is more malty and I didnt care for that one.

The pussification of America has entered the craft beer market. Once a time just to brew the best beer possible; now that the market is getting more diluted it turns into dollars and cents.

Just wow. As craft begins to permeate markets that would have never touched that market we call it pussification. Just because one city makes one beer that's sessionable does not mean the whole market is done. Hell, look at GOAT raft collabing with Landry for a series of "craft" but approachable beers. Stupid. Moronic. Craft is doing more and better things than ever, and doing it with increased market share.

And BDs have been a number of Tin Roofs at a stupid Bywater joint that 4 years ago would have carried exclusively BMC.

Personally a huge fan of freshness... but at the same time. Not scared to buy older beers to get them off the shelf. It's just a necessity at this point. Particularly in BR. I found Maggie's peach farmhouse from last year at Albertson's Government, and the 2015 just got released... it still drinks fantastic. Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy all drink well with several months on them with IPAs. Different, but still well (I'm trying to reduce my snobbery with born on dating for the greater good!).

It's absolutely 100% impossible for all the retail markets to satisfy the masses across the country with fresh beer. The only way to do it successfully that I've seen is to be a small selection bottle shop with at most 100 beers retail and rotate frequently (Saw this done in Columbia, SC at crafts & drafts. Awesome shop if you're ever in five points. And even they had a kill rack with winter beers).

Great hockey game tonight.

I'm trying this not drinking beer during the week thing. It kinda sucks. Especially when I'm grilling outside.

Working on this for the first time as well. It does indeed suck. But damn if I haven't slept better the last 3 nights. And it certainly doesn't suck waking up without a headache.

This won't last, but I just have to be better about sticking to the 1 or 2 beers a night. It's always the 4&5BD that get me.
