Had a can of THA last night canned 3.7.16 and wasn't impressed.

Think we might end up in that same situation. Old and not as good as local options.

NBD lady gaga stout. typically hate anything hazelnut but this is quite nice. Hazelnut completely overwhelms the bourbon barrel however

I cheated on my beer fast. Heard Second Line in Mid City had a barrel aged stout with toasted coconut -- I was imagining shades of Prop '14, so I had to stop by. Turns out I knew the bartender, so he also gave me a pour of the barrel aged mint chocolate stout on the house. The coconut was crap. The mint was good, but it tasted really artificial. Makes sense given it was made with mint bitters from El Guapo. The left beer, their Alryte Alryte Alryte, is a Rye DIPA. This was fantastic. Hits you with an initial citrus burst with a dank finish. Best beer they had by far.

For 4BD I had a Mosaic Promise

Ive been doing a beer fast since I finished my last box of Ghost. Im trying to drop some lbs. Im getting another box neext week, so im trying to stick to it until then.

How long are you intending to lay off the brews?

I'm trying to drop a few as well. Doing more than just laying off beer, but that's the biggest sacrifice for me. I'm gonna do what I can to go no beer until the 20th, which will be a weekend bender of waaaaaay too many beers, then leave them alone until the end of June when I head to New England. My hope is by late June I'll have dropped 10 pounds and settled into a fitness routine that supports my desire to enjoy a few beers.

I'm not going to be slavish about it, if I see a chance to try something new that I really want to try I'll do it, but no more winding down for the night with 2-3 beers almost every night.

ETA: It also means not eating 8000 calories of BBQ, but it's Faturday
