Founders double trouble sitting outside fore I get myself in the pool. Never realized this was 9.4%, explains so much.

yeah, i sometimes forget, as i'm relaxing/drinking the afternoon away, that some of these brews i'm pulling from the frig are pretty big beers....
but the founders double trouble is a great beer.

Just giving you hell brotha
Things have changed since we moved, and it's not the Lubbock that I used to know. But all my family is there and I enjoy visiting. I do miss the sand storms tho...
You tried the beer from that brewery in Wolfforth? Think its Wicked Beaver or something. I wasn't impressed.

because of a bunch of hail/thunderstorms in the area, we've been in a red sand haze for the past three days...

unfortunately, those beers are terrible. i wanted so much to like them and be able to support a local brewery. but i just can't do it. the first three offerings--cream weaver, timber ale and midnight ale--where just horrible. the cream weaver i think is suppose to be a mix of several styles, and is just a muddled mess. the midnight ale tastes like burnt motor oil smells. they debuted an IPA at the Blues and Brews festival--I was praying it would be good but, alas, it was not...at all. very disappointing.
there is another micro-brew that is suppose to be opening in Lubbock in the near future. i've tried some of there stuff at different local events, and it is promising at least. they run a local brewing supply store and host the local home-brewers club. i think they are close to getting off the ground. we'll see.

Got a BXN Box in today. Can't wait to try some of this Westbrook!

It's fantastic. Big hops, nice malt, smells great and is just thick enough. That's the problem, I went through like four of these the other night plus a bomber then went out and was hammered by midnight. I thought I just drank too much but this makes more sense. Getting into a barnburner or tank 7 next. frick life sucks.

Sucks about the weather. I hated those days.
Yea, I've had the cream weaver and the timber ale and had to Tetu them. Horrible honestly. I'll be anxious to try this new brewery that you are talking about.
Another ? For you, how is the selection at the Specs there? I hadn't been to it yet.

Sbd tank 7. 8.4%. Same comment about founders applies here too.

That both are average? I agree.

Couldn't take the heat, now in the pool with a tank 7. I'd say the day couldn't get any better but we're going to Delmonico tonight so that would be a lie.

specs has been a very welcome addition. we had a decent selection at a place called Docs but Specs came in and has crushed them when it comes to microbrews. there is a ton of stuff that i would get on road trips to east/south east TX but would never find here--and Specs has done a great job of changing that. i'm in that place close to once a week; not good for the wallet... ...but definitely an overall great addition to the city...

FBD - Old Rasputin..
Exciting news on the homefront, CCB is brewing a breakfast stout and Marshal Zukhov is patiently waiting in the tanks.

Glad to hear. I remember hitting the "strip" with my parents before it became a wet county.
I'll be sure to get in touch with you next time I'm up there.
Posted on 6/21/13 at 5:36 pm to rutiger
gotcha. ours is just outside of natchitoches. i spend a lot of weekends up there. been so busy the last couple months i've only been able to go once recently.
the 4th will be a huge blowout up there though.
