Very complex and intense. It was good, but we did not feel like it was in the same class as the Sahalie. Of course, not many beers are. GM seemed boozy and less balanced compared to the Sahalie. Perhaps I should have aged it a bit (bottle said best after 9/14), but that is really not going to happen in my house.

I agree. I've had it on tap, and thought that there were some flavors that I thought were off. Not bad, but not something I would seek out...

Yes. There were lots of intense flavors, but they did not seem to mesh well (does that sound like a beer snob, or what?) and there was a flavor I could not identify that seemed "off", as you put it. Still really nice to try new beers.

ETA: Sahalie is as good a beer as I've had this year. I shared the last 2 you sent me with fellow FBDers.
