I hear that Birmingham has a great beer scene. I've wanted to make the annual festival.

It's truly surprising. Several Alabama brews I didn't even know existed. May not be world beaters, but glad to see people in small towns trying.

I did it the first year after they legalized higher ABV beers and it was an awesome good time. I can only imagine what it's like now that they've had a few years and also legalized homebrewing.

Don't they have a kick-arse beer festival every year? Have you ever been?

Yep, had to meet someone in Chalmette for a couple drinks. Wife hadn't been so she was excited. Sprayed bbq sauce on the couple sitting next to us.

Yeah, close to Magazine. Signed the lease today, but will wait until beginning of Sept to move because of our schedules.

3BD / Singin' River (Florence, AL) Handy's Gold

Saw that Patterson Hood of DBT was posting that he thought he'd never see the day a brewery would open in Florence.

FBD homebrewed pale ale while kegging a DIPA.
SBD a taste of Rogue American Amber. Yuck.
TBD Drake's Aroma Coma. Probably my perfect IPA.
