Oak point is ok, but I don't like the cream cheese icing they put on top as much as a traditional sugar. Also, if you buy their cream cheese filled, it isn't cream cheese, it's just more of their cream cheese icing.

Grocery store cakes:
1A: Calandro's
1.Rouses
2.Alexander's Highland
3. Oak Point

King Cakes are like sex. My wife only lets me have it a couple times a year and it's always messy.

ETA: Calandro's is good.

King cake consumption and sex with wife are inversely proportional.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth and certainly don't get deep in the weeds when evaluating sweet foods, but we have a client that sends a Randazzos king cake to our office every year on mardi gras day, and damn if I don't go hard to the paint on some Randazzos king cake. Definitely look forward to that showing up each year!

Yeah i prefer Calandro's just due their variety. You can get the king you want any time you walk in the store regardless of preference.

Dong Phuong has the best king cakes. The line just isn't worth waiting in.

Is Dong Phuong already out of shipping days for the year? Their website indicates they are not accepting any more shipped orders.
