Which is better? I haven't been to either, but we're headed to Dutchtown from Lafayette for a performance and would like to try one of them.

The burger patties at Fat Cow are crap. However, I do like their specialty burger options, and their shakes. I also like their duck fat/Parm fries more than Mooyah's fries, which were soggy and blah when I went. Too bad you can't get Mooyah's patty on a Fat Cow specialty burger. Bottom line though, if you want a juicy burger with a quality patty and a lot of toppings, go to Mooyah.

If you just compared menus, Fat Cow sounds like the choice, but Moo Yah is the better burger.

I agree with everyone else. Mooyah is the better burger. Fat Cow tastes like a completely unseasoned frozen patty. Preshaped and everything. You can buy the same thing at the grocery store. I like Mooyahs honey mustard and get it on the side to dip the fries into.

Only been to Mooyah once when I was working in the area, but most places are better than Fat Cow IMO. Fat Cow grinds multiple sticks of butter into their meat, so it is a really dense patty with a strange texture. Further, I can't put my finger on the herb but something they put into the meat is a flavor I'm not a fan of. I want to say it might be sage.

Fat Cow is definitely not a "traditional" burger, but it is the best burger you can get in BR. People either love it or hate it, but the 120 burger is quite delicious. Mooyah is also good but it's not much different than your five guys or any other specialty burger fast food joint.

If people love it or hate it then how is it the best burger in town? Something so polarizing is simply not the best. Maybe you like it the best, certainly your opinion, but don't state it as some universal truth.

BigB, you're right. I should have added an "imho".

And I really don't get all the hate on the place. I get that it's all about personal preference, but I haven't found a bad burger there even once

This "hate" that you speak of stems from the fact that the Fat Cow patty, the most important part of the burger, is very meh. If they had a legit patty then it would be one of the best in town, but unfortunately, they don't. For that reason alone when I'm in that neck of the woods I'll choose Barcadia over Fat Cow every time.

With the Curbside people pulling out of Barcadia and being in the Merchant (taking over ZeeZees), I wonder what the food at Barcadia is going to end up like.

LL, did you hit up the merchant for the parade? I heard very bad things about the service and beer selection.

Also, I think Fat Cow is a perfectly fine burger. I'd take it over Mooyah and Burgersmith any day, but rate it below the happy hour burger at Flemings. I haven't had the Barcadia burger but I would guess its better than Fat Cow too.

Fat Cow was one of the first specialty burger places in that part of town, and I think they got a lot of business because of that. It's certainly not a destination burger, but not deserving of the hate it gets here either.

I like some of the specialty burgers with all the crazy toppings on them, but if that isn't for you, I can see how Fat Cow would be a let down.

I was in their tent, yes. But I don't know how anyone can knock their beer or anything... It was just a tent outside with a couple kegs and aluminum bottles for the parade. What on earth are people expecting them to have in their parking lot?

Never stood behind more than 1 person for a drink either

Fat Cow is bad for me because it the horrible patty. The fancy toppings are a good thing IMO. But that butter sage patty is not my thing.

Haha i got a review from a friend that said something along the lines of "don't go there unless you want to be yelled at while drinking a bud light". It was probably over something stupid while he was drunk though.
