quote:

Baton Rouge chef Troy Deano and the team at the Louisiana Culinary Institute are bringing a new restaurant and seafood market to the city. The development will also include a second location for the Baton Rouge-born Dolce Vita Pizzeria.

The new project, which has a footprint of about 8,000 square feet, will be located on Jefferson Highway behind LCI, and will likely expand in the future to also include other types of eateries.Baton Rouge chef Troy Deano and the team at the Louisiana Culinary Institute are bringing a new restaurant and seafood market to the city. "We feel (this project) will bring something -- especially to this part of Baton Rouge -- that'll attract a lot of people," Ruffolo said.

Hmm...the location...I ain't feeling it.

Is the culinary school gonna foot the bill for this or are Ruffolo and Deano leasing out the space from the school?

Here's a more recent 225 article. Pretty much says the same thing as the OP linked to, but is gives the actual address: 10423 Jefferson Highway

As any one starting a new business venture I wish them much success however that location may be a hurdle.

Best of luck to them

Was this the chief at steak 18 who was then involved with LeRoys and City Pork?

ETA : Nevermind. Just read the 225 article.

If he doesn't go out of business first, maybe he can get Dolce Vita's pizza oven when they fail. Looks pretty sweet.

They've obviously been suckered in by the Chimes East...

They should just cancel the whole project now and use the money to cure snow blindness in cats or something worth while.

Nothing said here will impact their success, failure, or mediocrity.

Frankly, I like the idea, a single location with several restaurants. But I can't be the only one looking at that location and thinking maybe they should consider looking elsewhere.

I don't know what the connection with the culinary school will be, so there's a good chance that there is a lot more going on there that would change my opinion.

But the idea that they're gonna draw a big crowd, that just doesn't jive with that location. After a full two minutes of looking at the area on Google Maps, I just don't see what they are seeing.

Funny but nope.
