Buy a guide book or ask a local when you get there

Pretty close to downtown St Johns. Not too familiar with all the locations yet. Not too worried about catching a cab either.

A quick non food story. We got to the airport early and checked our bags with some time left before our flights. We decided to head into town to walk around a bit and I carry a money clip, it had $500 in cash, debit card, credit card, and my driver's licence.

I pulled money out for the cab driver and paid him, he handed me some kind of receipt. My fist stop was at a convince store for a drink and my money clip was gone. I must have left it in the cab. I walked up to a police officer and explained my problem. Another lady overheard me talking and said that her husband worked at the airport. She make a phone call and talked with someone who was able to read and identify the driver but he was not back at the airport.

We walked to a cab pickup spot and she talked with a driver and he agreed to bring us back to the airport and also called the cab station there. He told me that all would be well. We got back to the airport and the driver had gotten the message and was waiting for us with my money clip, not a thing missing. I handed both drivers a bill for their trouble.

Who would have thought that I would get that back...

Go check lonely planet or trip advisor. We had no memorable meals there. Not sure I can remember the name of a single restaurant I have been to in the Caribbean. It's all about the same. Expensive and okay.

Not to be a Debbie Downer....but last time I was there 2008/2009, a couple was executed in their luxury hotel room.

Lucky for me I was traveling for business so I wasn't staying in a luxury hotel....
