My girlfriend and I are going to the Garth Brooks concert Saturday night and are looking for a good dinner spot. Can be expensive or cheap, just looking for ideas. TIA

If you are in town early enough Southern Faire will be at Great Raft in the tasting room. Beers and food.

I'd really like to have a beer with you one day and get to the bottom of this.

1. Be aware. The traffic and crowd will be huge. Leave early.
2. The best place in Bossier is L'Italiano. The best Italian food in NW La at very moderate prices. It's run by real Italians. Look up directions and you'll see it's only about 8 miles north of the concert.
If you don't like Italian food, don't go there.

Didn't Chef murder his girlfriend and get busted trying to flee the country?

He did. He currently resides at ccc. One of his long time managers and servers bought it and has kept it going.

Be aware also that the whole stretch of that road is closed. Getting to l'italiano can be a bitxh

Well, in that case you don't have any good eating places. You have to go north from the venue for anything I would consider.

There are 3 places right on Texas St in Shreveport.
Noble
Blind Tiger
Parish Taceaux

I wonder if you could get to L'Italiano by going north on Hamilton, west on Ogilvie and south on Monroe to get in the back way?

yes you can, it's just a pain. cutting down Hamilton through that neighborhood after hours is kind of sketchy.

Does Ki Mexico have a brick and mortar now?

Wherever you eat, be across the river and in Bossier in plenty of time. The line of cars to cross the Jimmie Davis Bridge on 70th on a concert night is ridiculous.
Maybe not so bad at the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge.
I've done L'Italiano for pre-concert meals, but the construction there now is insane. Doable, but you have to come in the back way.
I'd also get a reservation, as they sometimes book up when events like that are around. Afterward, go down to Hamilton Road and hook a right for a couple blocks to the Teague Parkway, go left and cruise to the concert.
Los Potrillos Taqueria on Old Minden Rd in Bossier is nothing fancy, but it is also near the parkway and has decent Mexican and Tex-Mex. I eat the hell out of their carnitas tacos. They even carry some unusual stuff like goat or cabeza for tacos, and huitlacoche or squash blossom quesadillas.

New joint called Tejas. Lots of my friends raving about it.
